Newcastle Film Festival

The Newcastle International Film Festival is a new four-day event taking place here in Newcastle between 29 March and 1 April 2018. The event will showcase genres from around the world, with a host of screenings, Q&As and masterclasses billed throughout the weekend.

The Biscuit Factory is delighted to be hosting a variety of events from this stellar line-up. Further details on events taking place in our function space, The Biscuit Room are detailed below. Check back as more will be added soon!


Night of the Living Dead, Friday 30 March, 11pm2am, Tickets from £17.50

A special midnight 4K digitally remastered screening of Night of the Living Dead on the film’s 50th anniversary. Tickets include a Zombie cocktail and ‘bloody popcorn’. Fancy dress optional!


Denise Welch ‘Black Eyed Susan’ and Chi Onwurah ‘The Body Beautiful’ In Conversation, Saturday 31 March, 10am1pm, Tickets £17.50

At an ‘in conversation’ event hosted by journalist and TV presenter Jane Witherspoon, our very own Denise Welch and Newcastle’s MP Chi Onwurah will answer questions on mental health, diversity and disability.

The event will be headed by a double bill of Denise’s short film Black Eyed Susan, a dramatic portrayal of mental health, as well as the 1991 film The Body Beautiful directed by Ngozi Onwurah, Chi’s sister. Ticket includes a delicious hot breakfast.
